EduMagic: A Guide for Preservice Teachers

This book challenges the thought that "teaching" begins only after certification and college graduation. Instead, it describes how students in teacher preparation programs have value to offer their future colleagues, even as they are learning to be teachers! This book provides positive examples, helpful tools, and plenty of encouragement for preservice teachers to learn, to dream, and to do.

Testimonials

I thought that this book was really informative, but further than that it was able to put at ease some of the anxious thoughts and questions I’ve had about being an educator. It was filled with helpful tricks to hold onto throughout my career and it explained some concepts that I had no clue about. This book brought to light and really stressed the importance of taking advantage of social media and what it has to offer educators. I’m so glad that I found this book, before entering college!

I teach Technology in Education to pre-service teachers and I first heard of EduMagic at the ISTE conference in Philadelphia. The book speaks to pre-service teachers in language that is highly relatable and encourages them to see themselves as educators with gifts to share even while working on their teacher certification. I was particularly interested in the chapter on online presence and was thankful when the author agreed to speak to my students on this topic through Zoom. I recommend this book to aspiring teachers and those who are helping them meet their goals.

This is an excellent read if you are gearing up for your student teaching semester or as a beginning educator. The content, tips and tricks in this book are real and relevant to every day life as an educator!
