Practical tips to mindfulness in the classroom Featuring Athea Davis

Welcome back, EduMagicians. Today Athea Davis, a health and wellness guru in the classroom, is sharing. She has been a practicing Mindfulness Educator at @KIPP for the past eight years.

She guides people to re-discover their inner spark to feel fully alive. She is also an author, digital course creator, and podcast host of Mindful Living w/Athea. Mindfulness - Paying particular attention on purpose with no judgment or expectation. Take in one thing at a time. We need to train ourselves to do this. Go through your five senses when being mindful in your practice. Explore inwardly next - what sessions? Thoughts? Emotions do you notice as a result of the external environment. It allows you to connect to a new world on the inside.

  • Desire + will = results - be intentional with your time.

  • What are you aiming for in your day?


For our new teachers

  • practicing gratitude

  • connections with students, teachers, and other professionals
