Create Your Teacher Action Figure with AI

Updated: Apr 25

Hey EDUmagicians! Have you ever been called a superhero? Well, today, we’re turning that teacher magic into a fun, creative project: your very own AI-generated teacher action figure! Have you ever thought about what your teacher action figure would look like? Would you come with a stack of graded papers, a venti Starbucks in hand, and stylish glasses perched on your nose? Or maybe you'd be rocking your favorite jean jacket and flare pens? Well, friend, now’s your chance to bring that vision to life with the help of AI!

In this interactive episode, I will guide you through using tools like ChatGPT, Copilot, or Gemini. You will create a personalized teacher action figure complete with packaging, accessories, and all the teacher vibes. This activity is fun, thoughtful, and a great way to explore AI bias, digital creativity, and a bit of professional branding, teacher-style. So grab your coffee, pause the show when needed, and let’s create something amazing together!

Why Create a Teacher Action Figure?

This activity is more than just a creative break. It encourages deep thinking about how we present ourselves as educators and how technology (like AI) interprets those inputs. Discussing representation, diversity, and bias is vital, especially for future teachers in today’s classrooms.

Preparing for the Project

Before diving into the creation process, gather your materials. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • An AI tool like ChatGPT, Copilot, or Gemini

  • A dash of creativity

  • Optional: a reference photo of yourself

You will craft a detailed prompt describing your teacher persona. This includes accessories, style, and packaging, just like a collectible! Trust me, tweaking your mini-you is hard to resist.

Understanding AI Bias

This project opens the door to critical conversations around AI bias. In my experience, specifying “female professor” in my prompt yielded a male action figure. This discrepancy provides an essential teachable moment to explore with your students or peers.

Bringing It to the Classroom

I used this activity with my students, and they had a blast! It sparked creativity and led to rich discussions around representation, self-identity, and media literacy. You can guide your students through the same process or adapt it into a reflective assignment on their future teacher selves.

Crafting Your Teacher Action Figure

📦 Prompt: Create a Teacher Action Figure

Create an action figure in collectible packaging at a 1:8 scale (standard collectible size). Here’s what to include for your teacher action figure:

  • Name/Title: [Miss Samantha]

  • Grade Level/Subject Area: [Kindergarten Teacher]

  • Physical Features: [Forties, brown medium-length hair, brown eyes, wears glasses]

  • Outfit Style: [Black pants, jean jacket, fun teacher earrings, sneakers]

  • Accessories (4–5): [Laptop, coffee cup, notebook, clipboard, pens, ruler, glasses, flare pens, apple pencil]

  • Packaging Box Colors: [Pink and white]

  • Background of Box: [Fun, colorful classroom]

  • Pose and Extras: [One hand on hip, holding a coffee cup, wearing a smartwatch, smiling]

Make sure to describe the figure's pose, box design, and accessories as you would in a product description.

Pro Tips for Success

  • Submit the entire prompt at once; don’t hit enter after each line!

  • Try both ChatGPT and Copilot and compare results (Copilot gave my figure a “Bratz” vibe 😂).

  • Check for bias in the results and adjust as needed.
