Spillin' the tea on Twitter for Teachers Featuring Stephan Hughes

Updated: 1 day ago

Welcome back to another episode of the EduMagic podcast! Today I have Stephan Hughes, and we are talking about getting connected on Twitter! Stephan is the co-founder & co-moderator of the #nt2t chat. He is a blogger, teacherpreneur, teacher trainer, speaker, MIEE Expert, and Educational Technology Specialist. You can find more about Stephan here. During this episode, Stephan shares his teaching journey and how the #nt2t (new teachers to Twitter) chat started. I was surprised that it all started with a question.

Stephan shares why we need to get connected on Twitter. He goes on to share what a Twitter chat is, how to be a meaningful participant, connect with hosts and attendees alike during a chat, and where to find the resources after that chat. We also share some of our favorite Twitter chats during the show:

  • #NT2T (new teacher to Twitter)

  • #FutureTchat (future teacher chat)

  • #Edchat (education chat)

  • #Globaledchat (global education chat)

  • #CrazyPLN (crazy professional learning network)

  • #FF (follow Friday) is a Friday movement where you share some of your favorite people and connections made on the platform with this hashtag.

This was a great episode to record, and I learned a lot about connecting with others and building my PLN. Learn more about Twitter chats and getting connected with these resources:
